*While in-person worship services for members and adherents of our congregation have now resumed, many meetings are still suspended.  Changes to this status will be posted as they are announced.  


FREE, Take-Away Lunch Program – daily (7 days/week), 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. – distributed via our 60 Bridge St. E. entrance.

These lunches are intended to respond to the need during  COVID-19; we will re-evaluate the program as social distancing measures are relaxed.  

Free soup & sandwich lunch is provided at Bridge Street Church.  Lunches are prepared by Bridge St. United Church staff and volunteers.  Christ Church Anglican Church prepares soup once each week.  

Bridge Street United Church also continues to offer frozen meals through its “TGIF” program, every Friday, 11:30 a.m. – 1 pm (during take-away lunch distribution).  St. Thomas’ Anglican Church prepares many of these TGIF frozen meals.  Use 60 Bridge St. E entrance.  Note that “End-of-the Month” and “Inn from the Cold” meals have been suspended for the time being.

Children’s Centre (Sunday School) & Birth to Fours Room* –

September through to the end of June.

A focus area for children is located in the south-east corner of the Sanctuary.  As we gather for worship, children (ages 5 to 13) are welcome at their table to colour or work on the activity sheets provided. After “Children’s Time”, all children are invited to go downstairs to our Sunday School room for age-appropriate, bible-based lessons designed to help children experience the stories of the bible with games, activities and crafts.  This area is facilitated/supervised by two adults. Visiting children are most welcome!

  • Birth to Fours area opens at 10:20 a.m.
  • Children’s Centre – ages 5 to 13

Coffee Time *– Following worship each Sunday, everyone is invited to join together in our auditorium to mix and mingle while enjoying a cup of coffee.  This gathering also provides an opportunity to speak to our Ministers.


Seven Days/Week (from middle of January to end of February – 42 nights):

Inn from the Cold (Meal Program)* – With the help of many volunteers, freshly-prepared, hot meals are served at the church from the middle of January to the end of February (42 days).  This outreach meal program is funded by individual and group donations.  If you would like to volunteer with this program, please contact the church office. 

Hours of operation:  4 p.m. – Doors Open/4:30 p.m. – Coffee, tea & soup is served/5 – 6:30 p.m. – meal is served.

If you are unable to attend during these hours, frozen meals can be picked up (daily) from 2 to 4 p.m.  I.D. is required for this frozen-meal component of “Inn from the Cold”.

1st & 3rd Tuesday of Each Month:

Drumantics Drum Circle* “Drumantics” welcomes anyone interested in making music, relieving stress, stimulating your brain and having fun to try group drumming 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month in the chapel at Bridge Street.  NO drumming experience necessary. Please bring $2 for Bridge Street Church. (Use Chapel entrance off Church Street).

Last Tuesday and Thursday of Each Month: (for period of Jan. 18 through to Feb. 28, see “Inn from the Cold” details, above).

End of the Month Meal Program* –  Held on 2 of the last 7 days of each month – all year long (check schedule, above).  There is no cost for these meals.  Each meal offers a hot main course, salad, and dessert (similar to our “Inn from the Cold” hot meals).  Doors open at 4:30 p.m. with coffee, tea & water available.  At 5 p.m., main course & salad is served.  At 5:30, dessert is served.  Seconds are served at 6 p.m.  (For those unable to attend during the evening meal, frozen meals are distributed on these same two days from 2 – 4 p.m.).

Wednesdays @ 8:30 a.m.:

Bible Study – A hybrid version of Bible Study is currently taking place; both in our Sanctuary and on ZOOM.  COVID protocols are being followed.  Contact the Church Office to enquire about our Bible Study.

Wednesdays – 2ND & 4TH FROM 3 TO 5 p.m.:

Knitters United*  Throughout any given year,  items knit through this program are distributed to the Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation, Bridge St. United Church’s winter Food Ministry program – “Inn from the Cold” and our community’s Adopt-a-Child winter apparel program.  Knitters normally meet in our Auditorium.  During Inn from the Cold (middle of January to end of February), they also meet on Saturdays in the Auditorium.


Thursdays (2nd Thurs. of each month) @ 9:30 a.m.: 

BSUC Book Lovers Club* Everyone who enjoys reading and informally discussing books is invited to these gatherings, which are held in the church Parlour on the second Thursday of each month.  Books are usually available through the Belleville Public Library or at local bookstores.  Watch our weekly church bulletins for future review titles.

Thursdays @ 5:30 – 6:45 p.m. (Bell Choir Practices) & 7 – 8:30 p.m. (Senior Vocal Choir Practices)*

We invite any interested singers and possible new hand bell ringers to join us for either of these rehearsals.  You do not have to be able to read music, but only have a love of music and a desire to share the gift of making God’s music with the current members of the Bridge Street Choir and Bridge Street Ringers.  For more info about our choir, click here.  For more info. about our Bell Choir, click here.  Contact:  Mitchell Cox, Director of Music, 613-962-9178, ext. 74./


Fridays @ 9:30 a.m.:

Stuff ‘n Chatter – Bulletin Collation* Many hands make light work” – This work bee provides an opportunity to help, as well as an opportunity to visit weekly with old and new friends.  After the week’s church bulletins are collated, enjoy coffee and a sweet.  We would love to have you join in!

Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.:

TGIF (“Thank God It’s Friday”) Frozen Meal Distribution – Free Dinner for Friday The meals distributed through this program (prepared on-site) help to stretch your food dollars.  Meals are distributed via our Bridge St. E. entrance and are available to everyone.  Registration is required on your first visit only.  Fore more info. about this, and our other food ministry programs, click here


Bridge Street Church United Church Women (UCW)*  – All women of the congregation are invited to attend our meetings where you’ll enjoy interesting programs and times of fellowship.   For more info., click here

UCW Meals-On-Wheels Delivery UCW members, as well as many people from the BSC congregation-at-large, volunteer their time to help deliver “Meals-On-Wheels” on Thursdays during the months of January and July.  See UCW page
